teleconferencing

A long distance communication established among two or more parties in such a manner that each party is able to communicate with all the other parties.

Today's enterprise teleconference includes not only telephone communication, but also video and web communication. One of the most popular services is the web-based conference, or online meeting, in which clients who do not have video conferencing equipment connect via the web, thereby participating in the call using only their web browser. Many public companies offer periodic investor conference calls, where shareholders are allowed to listen in on upper management discussion of company prospects.
